ACCCOUNTS DEPARTMENT A NIGHTMARE - STAY AWAY

I have been a lifelong customer of this company and its predecessor, Chubb. As far as the quality of their products and armed response go, I have no problems.

Their account side is a nightmare. Expect to be called at least once every 24-30 months and be told that you have not paid an invoice dated 30 months ago. This raises questions about their debtors departments competence, but you better pay or else legal steps will be taken.

I told the accounts department that I would pay the account if they promised not to send me any invoices in future that was older than 4 months as this was the umpteenth time that this had happened.

The answer that I got was a letter of final demand delivered the next day.

So, unless you are prepared to keep an extensive book keeping system to ensure that you don't get slapped with demands for thousands of rands that you cant even remember spending ..........
