Uconnect Garmin offers little support

Bought a 2012 Dodge Journey, it was appealing as it also has built in navigation. After buying the car I realised that the maps were llnever updated, it is the 2011 version. I have tried with dealerships and Garmin but they don't sell these updates anymore. They say they only support your vehicle or updates for 5 years. It is absolutely ridiculous that there are no support after 5 years. You can purchase a portable Garmin with lifetime updates, but for your very expensive car you are only covered for 5 years. They could at least offer the older version updates for purchase, so that one can still upgrade to the last available update. Now I have a car with a super updated Garmin system that can no longer be used. Better to buy android systems or use a cellphone where the maps are updated regularly and totally free.
