Recall Jeep Grand Cherokee 2012 model

2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee - vin no 1C4RJFFM9CC210441 - registered in the name of TI Prinsloo. A problem ocurred with the alternator during January 2021. The engine would cut out while driving and on occassion would not start when the ignition button is pressed to start the vehicle. Upon having the battery tested it was discovered that the alternator was not charging the battery optimally. The alternator was replaced at a Jeep dealership on the east rand and I paid for this. It has since come to my attention that a recall was done on this model to have the alternator replaced. Upon enquiry at both the dealership as well as Jeep SA, I was told that this vin number was not part of the recall. The question is: is it possible to have only certain vehicles of the same make and model fall under the recall? I have been unable to get any explanation from neither Jeep SA nor the dealer.
