R3500 to repair dims on headlights of Dodge

ASAR owns a 2006 Dodge SXT which we use as a patrol and response vehicle.<br> We are currently experiencing problems with the dims on the headlights.<br> The dim headlights went out a couple of weeks apart.<br> An auto electrician could not find any fault with the bulbs.<br> I now understand that the lights does not work with fuse, but another computerized trip meganism.<br> When I took the vehicle to Dodge Chrysler at the Lifestyle Centre at Century City, I was told that the computer needs to be reset or alternatively some parts need to be replaced.<br> They suggest I book the vehicle for repairs and that the first available service date is three weeks later.<br> They also mentioned that a lot of stripping of the dashboard needs to be done. So much as 5 hours labour at R690 per hour.<br> This is totally unacceptable as I see this as a design flaw when the vehicle layout was converted from a left hand drive to a right hand drive.<br> The fact that this computer box is so inaccessible is surely not the clients fault.<br> Firstly, a three week delay in repair of a minor fault like headlights is absolutely ridiculous.<br> Secondly, to expect a client to pay 3.5k is ridiculous.
