Jeep

Jeep Wrangler: Agent Century City: Vehicle showed a Check Engine symbol - Jeep Century City (vehicle serviced regularly at branch) advised that the fuel sensor was not working. Paid R14 000 for replacement. (This is a simple replacement to drop the fuel tank and remove fuel float and replace). Having picked up the vehicle within 5km the Check Engine symbol came on. We immediately advised Jeep Century City that fault was incorrectly diagnosed and returned the vehicle. Jeep Century City firstly refused to credit the fuel sensor unit and stated that the ECM ECU CPU unit must be faulty and refused to order the part without a deposit on a further R14 000 quote. This was paid R7 000. The vehicle remained at Jeep Century City for 5 months - we phoned every week for when the part would be sent - "on its way" they never phoned back. After 6 months we were advised in JHB then finally arrived - no calls from Jeep - we phoned again "What is going on" - response was they cannot programme the new CPU as our computer does not function with old CPU unit. We cannot fix your car and you can pick it up. What is their problem!! how can a person buy a jeep and an engine light come on and they cannot responsive over 6 months. One cannot even sell the Jeep - who want's a vehicle with a faulty engine light on!! Never ever purchase a Jeep - there is no service ability and the service centres are total incapable - don't phone back - lie blatantly. If you ever purchase a Jeep from Century City be very aware that they mis-diagnose problem which you have to pay for and are totally incapable of resolving problems - I would hesitate to even allow them to do an oil change!! To anyone who purchases a Jeep - please be aware that there is no after sale support.
