Is my Jeep a death trap?

I bought the vehicle Des 2014, Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland Diesel, as this was not my first Jeep and I had no problems with the previous one apart for aircon relay and window winder I was confident the at least I would have a robust, save and reliable vehicle I can you use as a family car. Well for the price the ask it should be … The issue started from the outset, the car was shaking violently under braking above 100km/h, after a view skims of the disks the final said there is a call back on the brake discs that apparently warp. Must have taken close to a year to get this sorted. At the same time the aircon was giving problems, blowing ice cold for the first 10 min regardless of the setting which is kind issues in winter, they tried to fix it once but made it worst … When I took the car for first service and was about to pick up the car they told me that they had a problem with a vacuum lock in the motor and the that vehicle was over heating and the car stayed over 2 days while they sorted this. Don’t know what they had to do that would cause vacuum lock in cooling system. After the car was return I complained the vehicle was running hot but the assured me it was normal … Then the real fun started, the Jeep started jumping gears, initially it was minimal but deteriorated to the point it was jumping into lower gears and park while driving at speed. Imagine driving 120km/h and the car jumps to 1st or park with your family in the car! The car at the dealer various times for this for software update, they even said they replace some of the controllers at one point but eventually replaced the complete gearbox after about year attempts. The final straw was when a water pipe burst leaving me with and overheated engine next to the road. According to the service agent the cooling system was filled with tap water for long period instead of anti-freeze causing the pipes to corrode. As the water usage on the car was almost zero the only time this could have happened was with the service when they had a vacuum lock in the cooling system. They subsequently replaced all the water pipes on the car, but typically your compression ring, valves etc. is damaged when car overheats this bad… In trying to resolve this with Chrysler Jeep customer support the insist that it is not their problem and that I would have refer it to the dealer, that no longer exists!! They offered to help me in the process but after calling them various times I have just received a bunch of empty promised till now …

My family refuse to get in the car and say it’s a death trap because of the history … so you decide!!!!
