"Most likely to squat"

I came across the services of this company by default. Another property agency handed over their billing to this letting agency. As a tenant my landlord instructed another letting agency to handle my account. I continued with payments to my landlord through the agency he elected. In the meantime, chorus letting sent me emails of accounts outstanding and I always responded to them telling them that I paid my account through the agency my landlord had elected. 2 years later I find out that they updated my credit bureau information as having unpaid my account. I am seeing this for the first time and my profile came across as "most likely to squat", me? a squatter! I am so shocked and appalled at how companies can give false information to the credit bureau and it impacts our lives so much, now I stand a chance to forfeit the new apartment I app**** for and must fix my credit record! The worst part is Chorus is so difficult to get ahold of, they really need to fix this mess!
