The worst letting agency

Literally the worst letting agency I have ever encountered in my life. If I found my dream house and Chorus were the agency renting it, I would run away.

Some problems we dealt with:

1) When I asked the letting agent if the flat had been broken into, she flat out ****. I only found out from the owner later that the previous tenants had been broken into. We had already signed the lease.

2) At the end of our one year stay, we received an excel spreadsheet with a water bill. Our water was included in our rent.

3) When the second agent came to do show houses, she advertised the flat at the wrong address. We did her entire job for her - she didn't know if the flat had parking, if there was a pool in the complex, if electricity was included, nothing. She was also ******.

4) I was shouted at by a member of the body corporate for not cutting down a tree. Chorus forgot to forward the notice about the tree to us, or to the owner.

5) There was a leak in our bathroom that discoloured the ceiling. They told us to go and talk to our upstairs neighbour and figure it our ourselves.

6) Chorus did not notify us that the body corporate had planned renovations. They used the parking space I paid for to place scaffolding. I could not reach Chorus for them to fix the issue.

7) They gave away our information to third parties without our consent. I received a random sms out of the blue saying "we know you don't have an alarm." They told a random company, without telling us, that they needed to install an alarm AFTER we had arranged plans with the owner to have one installed. They apparently were not aware they aren't legally allowed to give out our personal information to random strangers.

8) They sent us messages saying we hadn't paid our rent when we had in fact paid it early. They told us to use a different reference number than the one written into our lease agreement, that they originally provided and signed.

Do not, I repeat, do not get involved with these people. They are *********** to the point of costing you extra money
