AN AGENCY TO AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! Unreasonable Financial Demands -

I was on the verge of renting from Chorus Letting just today!(20 February 2025) but the experience quickly turned sour due to their excessive and unfair financial demands. Specifically made by Lynette Phillips. Despite providing a guarantor (who is my employer and earns more than three times the rental amount), she insisted on 1. Six months’ rent upfront, Two months’ deposit, and for me to start regular rental payments starting from day one of my lease.

As a property manager myself, I can confidently say this is far beyond what any reasonable leasing agent should ask for. It felt exploitative, not to mention unnecessary given the security a guarantor is meant to provide. If you are not a fan of any unnecessary financial burdens, I’d caution ANYONE and EVERYONE considering renting or letting their property to think twice before agreeing to work with such unreasonable terms and practices.

This experience left a bad taste in my mouth, and I would like to thank every single person who has left a review for saving me what could’ve been 82k worth of tears. I would HIGHLY recommend avoiding this property unless you’re prepared to have high blood pressure.
