ChopProp deposit despute

Hi Hallo Peter Team

I rented a flat for one and a half years from Choprop.

when I vacated I was handed a bill of R5000 for damages that was present when I moved in. I requested photos of the repairs with invoices but none is forthcoming. Nor did I receive my key deposit back. Its been three months now that I am contesting this. There is also no proof or feedback is of where my money is (with them or my landlord) nor did my R9000 deposit incur any interest over the year. I could have invested this money. I know about what needed repair and it is negligible but i have no problem with that.

I am concerned that this money was taken and nothing has been repaired.

They took my money deposit knowing beforehand they will rake half when I leave as a general rotten principle - this goes for all letting agencies. They just make up a quote and take your money stating in example they washed the carpets but the day you moved in the carpets was not washed but dirty meaning the person before you was charged but the carpets were never washed.

I will greatly appreciate your competent assistance. I don't know where else to go. I requested contact details of the directors but none is forthcoming. I feel as if I have been ****** in broad daylight based on a thumb suck.
