No regard for customers!!
On 07/07/2021 I went to Choppies Parys and lost my parcel counter tab, a piece of cardboard box on which was scribbled my counter number 8, I asked what was the procedure and was told that I would have to pay R50 which would be refunded should that token be found. I paid the R50 left my details and received no correspondence since. Today 26/07/2021 I went back to enquire and conincidentally got the same piece of cardboard with the same counter number when I handed my parcels in. I approached the customer service cubicle and an Indian man told me to wait asked one of the ladies at the cigarette kiosk to get Baby ( that's her name) to assist me. I told Baby that I recognise the box as the one I lost but I was never called to get my R50 back, she told me that they only charge if my token was a red and white big plastic one and not the one I claim to have lost, even then she spoke to me in a very dissmissive tone. I argued with her over this and asked her what the next step was and she informed me that it was my loss? I then asked who do I speak to to complain she pointed to a black guy who was there and said he was the manager, I told him my story and was told that I would have to wait for a the lady who they "think" assisted me to hear her side of the story as they do not have my R50. Seeing that I was not getting anywhere with this I then enquired about the notice on the parcel counter window that states that loss of a token costs R20 and that they should atleast refund me R30. Baby was called again and told me that, that notice is old and was no longer valid. She told me it was from when the store opened and she proceeded to peel it off the window. I told her I want my R50 back and she told me I was not going to get it back because to her it sounded like a made up story because they never charge for a cardboard box. I was appalled and disgusted with all, I was made to feel like an idiot in yhe store with staff talking to me in passing not taking the time to address me properly. R50 is a lot of money to pay for a piece of cardboard that they claim not to have charged and I want it back. I hate the way they spoke to me and it seems the only thing they deem important in that store is the furniture.
