Non compliant electrical work

I contracted Herman van der Merwe from Choice Electrical to rewire a circuit that burned out due to a power surge.

A couple of weeks after the work was done, I contracted another electrician to do a COC test of my whole house. He pointed out that the work that Herman did, was not compliant. A second electrician confirmed this. Herman used a 2,5mm square cable to connect a geyser, lights and wall plugs. A 2,5mm diameter is too small to operate all related power, it should have been a 4mm or 6mm cable. Herman also did not use a conduit, but plastered the cable into the wall. He used the wrong circuit breakers and did not mark them clearly. Both the other electricians quotes half the fee when I asked them if they had to do the same work - properly.

I contacted Herman via email with my concerns, which he denied aggressively, threatening with judges and senior attorneys ... I assume this is a scare tactic to prevent me from taking this further and reporting him. I contacted him a second time and he rep**** that he will send a regulation/code to proof that his work was proper. Needless to say that I am still waiting for this proof and that all my attempts of communication is being ignored. Do not expect any client care or integrity from this man. He will take your money, more then he should, and run!
