Unpaid Employee Salaries, Unresolved for Weeks

I'm posting this on behalf of employees at a Chicken Licken outlet who have not received their full salaries on time, despite repeated internal complaints raised with management.

This is not a minor administrative delay — it directly affects people's ability to pay rent, buy food, and support their families. We have raised this formally with management and, to date, have not received a clear resolution or payment timeline.

We believe this failure to pay employees on time and in full is inconsistent with South Africa's Basic Conditions of Employment Act, which requires employers to pay agreed wages on the agreed date, as well as with employees' constitutional right to fair labour practices. It is disappointing that a well-known brand like Chicken Licken, trusted by so many South African customers, would allow this situation to continue without urgency.

We are raising this publicly because internal channels have not produced results. We hope Chicken Licken's head office will take this seriously, investigate, and ensure all outstanding salaries are paid immediately. Affected employees deserve to be paid what they have rightfully earned.
