Formal Complaint – Poor Food Quality and Extremely Unprofessional Service

Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Food Quality and Manager’s Unprofessional Conduct from Chicken Licken Kwadukuza Mall on the 15th of September 2026

Dear Manager/Customer Service,

I am writing to formally complain about the extremely poor quality of the food I received from your store.

The food was clearly of an unacceptable standard. It was excessively oily, appeared overcooked and poorly prepared, and was not something I felt comfortable eating. I have attached photographs of the food as evidence of the condition in which it was received.

I contacted the store to raise my concerns, expecting the matter to be handled professionally. Unfortunately, the manager’s attitude was extremely rude and dismissive.

What concerned me even more was that the manager actually told me that the oil used was old and that I “won’t get sick from it.” I find this statement completely unacceptable. As a customer, I should never be told that old oil is being used and then be dismissed when I question the quality and safety of the food.

Whether or not someone becomes sick is not the point. Customers have a reasonable expectation that food will be prepared hygienically, using ingredients and cooking practices that meet acceptable food-safety standards.

I am extremely disappointed with both the food and the way my complaint was handled. The manager’s behaviour was unprofessional, disrespectful and certainly not the way a customer should be treated when raising a legitimate concern.

I request that this complaint be taken seriously and investigated by someone in senior management. I would also like an explanation regarding the use of old cooking oil, as well as an appropriate resolution/refund for the unacceptable food I received.

I look forward to receiving a response. I placed this order on Uber eats and I have reported a complaint about this. Contact Details : ***
