"Customer is always right"? Not according to this lady

Yesterday I had the displeasure of experiencing a repulsive display of customer service.

I purchased lunch from Chicken Licken in Pinetown. One of the chicken pieces was firstly: brown inside to the bone, and secondly: it smelt bad.

Naturally, like any paying customer, I went back to the store to complain about it. I spoke to a lady cashier first and she didn't seen to see anything wrong with the piece of Chicken. I then asked to speak to the manager, who, quite oddly shared the same opinion as her colleague. This baffled me, and to prove her point, the manager got for me three other pieces of chicken and opened them slightly (telling me not to open them too much as they will not be able to be sold after wards) to show me that they are all the same and that there was nothing wrong with the piece I had purchased. I let her be, said thank you and left quitely.

I returned to my place of work across the road from Chicken Licken, and compared my piece to those of my colleagues who had also bought lunch from the above mentioned store. I went back to show the manager that there was in fact a distinct difference between my piece and the others.

She continued to stick to her story and said they did nothing wrong. I then asked, "well what happens in this case since we can't come to an agreement", she said she can't do anything cause there's nothing wrong. I asked if she really believed that and she rudely said, and I qoute "manje pho?" (Which in Zulu means "and so what?"). I started to raise my voice in agitation and she said "why am I shouting as if she's on the other side of the room?" And continued to say "I will not help you." As I walked out the store I said I'd take this matter up with her head office and she rep**** "go ahead, there's the number!" (Pointing to a banner). She then got aggressive and said we should take this outside. I ignored this and left the store.

As I walked across the road, the shouted (in Zulu) "Here I am, come and get me cause it's me you want, right?". I said " I will no longer deal with you,I'll call your head office " and walked away as she continued ranting on.

I am highly disgruntled and unsettled about the service and staff as a collective of that Chicken Licken branch as the staff was just as rude.
