Chicken Licken: "Yes we have options under R20. No, you can't buy them"

<p>Good day,</p> <p> </p> <p>Tonight at approximately 10 pm I waited in line to buy myself something at the Potchefstroom branch. When it came time to order I selected the Slyder Snack 2 on offer for R18,90 . I was then informed, when presenting my debit card, that I couldn't swipe for under R20. This was despite no visual info board proclaiming such a condition. The cashier encouraged me to buy with cash or to add an additional item, neither of which I could or was willing to do. </p> <p> </p> <p>As a consumer, I cannot comprehend the justification of such a prerequisite when Chicken Licken's own menu has options below R20. Neither have I encountered such a rule at other similar-marketed fast-food outlets. </p> <p> </p> <p>There doesn't seem to be any mention of the R20 rule anywhere and would kindly like to request clarification on this matter.</p>
