Poor service experience, the worst I have ever seen

I thought long and hard about going to social media with this but I thought I would rather know and better to be informed than not.

I have Chevrolet utility with 26000 km on the clock and only a year and a half old. Still hasn’t had it’s second service as yet. I discovered that there was a coolant leak on the vehicle, I book the vehicle in at Reeds Claremont for the diagnosis to be carried out. Only to find out that the engine block has a crack in it. Reeds then informed me that the matter was handed over to Chevrolet SA as the vehicle is still under warranty. They then came back to me that the engine has been approved but on investigation I find that it is recon engine( which is a second hand motor been overhauled) which most probably has trip the amount of mileage than the original engine. This problem also being a manufacturer failure in the component fitted from new. So I call Chevrolet SA about my concern being that how could you be fitting a second hand engine to my vehicle and not a new one. After calling them for a week to find out why with no joy. Then Chevrolet SA come back to me saying sorry about this but we will only supply you with a second engine take it or leave it that is our final decision or they will cancel the warranty on this claim. Still telling me I need to let them know in the next 3 day what I want to do. Not leaving me with much choice on the matter.

So I get the engine fitted and done by Reeds Claremont. I contacted Chevrolet SA again after the second hand engine has been fitted. Asking if there was no possibility of extending the warranty by a year to give me a piece of mind and a good will gesture as my bakkie is only a year and half old. Then after waiting for a week still no one comes back to me so I phone them. Only to be told sorry but our decision was final and we not extend the warranty

I have lost a lot of faith in this product and the company. I will never buy a product that is in the process of pulling out of country again!
