New vehicle from Chevrolet worthwhile?

One would think that purchasing a new vehicle straight off the show room floor would save you from additional costs. Additional costs for repairs and maintenance is associated with a second hand vehicle.<br> <br> Well, not in the case of our Chevrolet 1.4 utility bakkie. We purchased this vehicle a year or so ago and had it serviced on its year anniversary by a GM approved mechanic. We were told all was fine with the vehicle. A month later the clutch starts with problems and a day later we take it in to Fury at Hyde Park only to be told that the hydraulic bearing is weak and the clutch needs an overall which would cost in the region of R7000. We decided to get a comparative quote from another mechanic shop and were told by them that it was a common thing for these vehicles to be brought in for clutch problems. We were told by Fury that it was my husband's 'driving style' that caused the problem.<br> <br> We are already charged a fortune in SA for vehicles and companies have no problem extracting that extra bit from you without for one instant taking responsibility for a manufacturing issue. <br> <br> I don't know if any one else has had an issue similar to this, but I can't help feeling **********.
