Chevrolet horrible

We have a meticulously maintained chev cruze that has just reached 149 000 km , took car for its service interval. Was told the gearbox has an issue , cost to repair r36 000. Doing some internet searches it appears this is a common defect on these GM cars, with many clients across the world experiencing the same component fail. Stay away from Chevrolet, not built to last regardless of how well you treat your vehicle.
