Chelino for the LAST time.
I came in and Bought the Daytona 2 car seat for my baby boy over the weekend, brand new from Chelino Fourways. I got home, and struggled for hours to get the car seat in. Frustrated, I drove back to the store with the car seat on the back seat. A staff member came to the parking lot to check. Tried pushing it in further into the isofix for me, and couldn't get it in further. Then said no its maxed out, and that's how it sits... It was flopping all over the place.. so I said there is absolutely no ways that's normal, and IF it is.. then I definitely don't want the seat, and I won't be putting MY baby in it.
They went back up, and grabbed a different model,(more expensive, but also narrower one in terms of size) from the display. Came with me to the parking lot and pushed it in on the other side, rear passenger. (As the Daytona I bought was still in my car on the other side). That model fitted.. great.
I drive back home, collect the Daytona box, and my original receipt, and drove back to the store.
Back upstairs, I return the Daytona, and they go fetch the higher model. I then spoke to another staff member at the counter and asked can we please just try fitting another Daytona, maybe the one I was given was just faulty? as I would prefer it because it's actually broader, and would fit my son better. I get told that the arms are actually longer on the base isofix of the Daytona, and that's why it wouldn't fit???? The arms on the more expensive model are shorter, so would most definitely fit, so my only solution is to buy another model entirely. Suspicious.. makes no sense to me, but hey. They make me pay the difference now because the car seat is a higher model. Also inbetween all this they made a mistake and accidently returned the Daytona, AND the one I just bought. So now they on the phone, trying to organize my slips, my wife is phoning asking where the hell I am as it's been hours. Eventually they give me my slips.
They bring the box out and I say can we please fit it, as I want to make sure it fits perfectly fitted before I leave, I can't keeping driving up and down. Back down stairs to my car, open the new seat, try fit it, and it's having the same problem as the Daytona, fitting loosely. The gentleman then discovers the isofix clips ( which are included in the box btw), slid between the leather of my seats, and states THATS the reason it doesn't fit. Removes those and 'Click', it's in place. Snug and tight.
Now we've discovered that was the problem, that means the Daytona should surely fit???
So now I want my Daytona back because I preferred it anyway. Back upstairs, AGAIN. Lady at the counter sighs, and starts making phone calls, giving me lip now like I've wasted THEIR time. I mean how the hell am I supposed to know that those clips are/were the problem?!?! Apparently it's common so if they had just flippn told me that before I left the store in the first place, this wouldn't have even happened. Plus, that means the whole storey of arms being longer on the Isofix was just a load of S#%t?! I mean seriously?!
To top it off, when I asking for my refund now on the difference, no, leave your banking details and you'll get an EFT in +-14 days?!
My ENTIRE afternoon was wasted. Then being **** to, and been given lip like I'm supposed to know this stuff was just not on. I have spent THOUSANDS at Chelino. I bought my sons whole travel system, his cot, his bouncer just to name a few. Then basically being told 'you'll get your money back when you get it'.
That'll be the LAST time I'll be buying from Chelino. You've just lost a VERY loyal customer.
