Arrogant Manager

The customer service at the Checkmart at China Mall is quite pathetic. I went there today and upon passing the Nestle Smarties Minis, which had a big arrow pointing to it with a price saying R28.99, I took 2 packs, only to get to the till and be charged R37.99 on each. I pointed it out to the cashier who went to check on it and then called the manager, who was a very arrogant indian man. He didn't greet me in a friendly manner and ask what the problem is, instead he came to us and started rattling on about how all their stores have the price of the item below it, which is incorrect because the barone chocolates below the Smarties didn't have a price below it, it just has an arrow above it, pointing to it with the price of Smarties . I tried to explain that as a consumer/shopper who doesn't have time to read each and every label it is very deceiving to have an arrow and a price pointing to an item when it isn't even for that item. His response was "well there's nothing I can do about that and I can't give it to you at R28.99 either" and then he has the nerve to say in a very arrogant way "it's only R10.00 I can give it to you from my wallet" Because of that managers rudeness, blatant arrogance, lack of customer service and unwillingness to listen and pay attention to what a customer is saying Checkmart has just lost not only business from me but from all of my colleagues as well.
