Horrible experience ever.
On the 5th of June 2026 I went to checkers at Westgate to withdraw my sassa money as my card doesn't withdraw at atms so I went the to withdraw and purchase a backpack and I got a horrible treatment, cashiers at checkers Westgate every month on grants dates doesn't want to give people who came to withdraw money. Every cashier will tell you she's from lunch and doesn't have money on their till, I told the cashier who was assisting me as the que is long I will wait for her to make some cash at her till which will be the amount of R1000 as it was the cash I needed then she told me to wait aside so he assist other customers while I was waiting I saw customers who were depositing cash at money market a huge amount of cash which was more than the money I was looking for.. Then I went to money market and asked Neliswe who was the cashier at money market for a mere R1000 then she refused and told me to go withdraw at the tills and I told her the cashiers at the till said they don't have money as they coming from lunch still waiting for them to make some cash I was so hurt because I waited about an hour while other cashiers have money but they will make excuses even the old lady who was with me in the que Neliswe refused to give her money saying we can't withdraw at money market and the old lady left without having cash and had the same problem like me her sassa card doesn't withdraw at atms but only at the tills. I stopped going to checkers at Westgate because when you need cash always they come up with stories. After I waited for a lousy R1000 for and hour I asked to purchase a backpack I also waited for about 20min for an override when they sent one of their employee to call a manager she went and came told the cashier that the managers doesn't reply her and they don't want to come, she went and went look for another person to override then came a guy called Riaan he told the cashier not to call hm for people who are standing in front not a que, then I answered him telling him that I waited and waited there for more than 30min for money and waited again for more than 20min for an override then he come tell me that what am I doing in front not in the que while am from the que yoh I was so frustrated shem bad service from checkers Westgate I hate it. Riaan and Neliswe made my day more worse shem.

Good day I Went to checkers Westgate mall to purchase a few things and to my disgust the niknaks was so old it already expired on 12/02/2026 sies Checkers man is this a ****a shop there is a reason I shop at checkers and Shoprite but this is just plain nasty. Regards Edmund

Checkers cashier at Westgate Mall
I have noticed that cashiers are very rude and towards some of us as customers. Especially female cashiers. Today this cashier gave me so much attitude by just asking her if they no longer pack for customers as I had just finished paying, she gave me the slip and not answered my question. Instead she was very dismissive and spoke to a colleague before even finishing with me! I was very disappointed as this continues to prove just how much as ladies undermine one another. I'm never going back to that Checkers ever cos WOW!! 🙁
