Ridiculous policy

I ordered long life milk on 24 Jan and opened the one (dented) box today 28 Jan, only to find the milk is sour. Now it is expected of me to physically take the milk to the shop for a credit. It is ridiculous to make me pay for parking and fuel to return a R14.99 item. Please explain the justification of the cost and why Checkers cannot credit my account.
