Disgusting lack of empathy around real issues.

Since Checkers moved into our neighbourhood, deliveries have grown rapidly. Some residents are now forced to listen to more than 100 delivery-bike passes a day, and on some days well over 200, in a street that used to be quiet. The noise comes from repeated Checkers Sixty60 traffic on a route that should never have been treated like a shortcut, and it is made worse by the loud, poorly suited bikes they continue to use despite repeated requests to do something about it.

I have tried repeatedly to raise this issue with Checkers Sixty60 because the noise from the delivery bikes on our residential street is not a small inconvenience. It is affecting daily peace, focus, anxiety levels, and overall mental health. This is a long-running problem that has been explained clearly and repeatedly, yet the response has been to do little more than acknowledge the complaint and move on.

What makes this especially frustrating is that they refuse to use main roads, even though that would only add about a minute to delivery times. Instead, they continue sending noisy bikes through a residential shortcut and expect nearby residents to absorb the disruption. They also completely ignore repeated requests to set standards for the motorbikes being used and to switch to quieter alternatives.

The reply we received was essentially that they cannot change the route because of order volumes, because it is a public road, and because it might affect other customers. That is not a real solution. It is a refusal to take responsibility for the impact their operation is having on people living here.

This feels dismissive and indifferent to the actual harm being caused. A company this size should be able to take noise complaints seriously, especially when residents explain the effect on their mental health and quality of life. Instead, the issue has been closed off with no meaningful mitigation, no proper accountability, and no sign that residents’ wellbeing matters.

Public roads do not excuse repeated commercial noise in a residential area, and residents should not have to live with this simply because a slightly longer route or a quieter bike would be less convenient for the business.

Don't be fooled by their marketing. This corporation doesn't care about anything other than profit. Absolutely disgusting the lack of empathy and consideration from them.
