Checkers/ Checkers Sixty60 South coast mall

Customer Service Department South Coast Mall Checkers 60/60

I am laying a complaint regarding my Checkers Sixty60 online delivery dated 26 November 2025. While the order was delivered, the Baby NUK bottles that I purchased were not included in the delivery bag. On the same day, I visited the Checkers branch to report the missing item. The staff showed me an internal image indicating that the bottles were supposedly packed. However, despite this, I did not receive the bottles in my actual delivery. ( Mangament stated that 2 bags was sent to be delivered and 1 bag had my groceries and the other bag had just the NUK bottles as it is a high Valued item, however upon collection , 2 bags was received but 1 bag had my groceries and the the other bag had the bread- This does not add up!) Due to the urgency and my need for the item, I had no choice but to purchase a new set of Baby NUK bottles from the store on the same day. I expected that the missing item would be refunded once the matter was resolved. The manager informed me that the issue was escalated to the Sixty60 department, yet my request for a credit note/refund was declined. This response is unacceptable, as consumers are legally protected under the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) of South Africa, which states that customers are entitled to receive the goods they paid for. If an item is missing, the retailer is responsible for rectifying the error and providing a refund or replacement.

I therefore request a full refund for the Baby NUK bottles that were not delivered.

The responsibility lies with Sixty60 or the delivery driver, as the consumer cannot be held liable for internal handling errors. If the NUK bottles was packed in store and left the store , the full responsibility lies on delivery driver who is then responsible for the item. I trust that Checkers will address this matter promptly and fairly, in accordance with the CPA and the National Consumer Commission guidelines. Please provide feedback and confirmation of my refund by end of this week to avoid further escalations and a case being opened. ( As advised by the checkers sixty60 supervisor)

Thank you for your attention to this matter.
