Xtra Savings? Nope. Xtra frustration.

It’s the oldest trick in the book. Advertise a special on your website and then in-store say ‘sorry… that’s only available at the special price online.’ After an interminable wait the manager arrived and I showed him the ad on the Checkers website … not checkersonline or anything to suggest it would only be available online and nothing on the ad saying ‘Available online only’. Maddening… especially infuriating as I’d given my Philips air fryer to my widower dad and was expecting my daughter for dinner. An air-fried dinner. Especially especially frustrating as I’d gone to Tafelberg Furnishers who had a special on Philips air fryers but at a slightly higher price than Checkers was advertising it for. Small things I know … but small things like this are what retailers’ reputations are made of. So… takeaways for my daughter … and one measly star for Checkers and their misleading advertising.
