"Xtra Savings" is a CON....watch out for inflated prices !!!!!!!

I was previously a big fan of Checkers newly launched "Xtra Savings", until I realised I was being conned. Look carefully at the so-called "discounted" prices, and the savings you are supposed to make. For example, they currently have the Old El Paso Meal Kit available on "Xtra Savings" for R64.99 - a saving of R35 (ie usual price is R99.99). Bought the product, as I always wanted to try it. True enough, the till receipt rings it up as R99.99 with a "XTRASAVE" discount of R35. Told a friend about this fantastic deal and was disappointed to hear from him that the "normal" price is usually around R75. Next time I was in Checkers, I located the shelf where this product is usually stocked (not the "Xtra Savings" promo shelf), and discovered that it is in fact R74.99 So still a saving of R10, but nowhere near the falsely claimed R35 You have been warned...WATCH OUT This is ******* in other countries, and should be addressed to the NCA, or an ombudsman, or some other body!
