Work is the new chat site

I run two companies and daily I go to Checkers to buy office supplies Kitchen needs and food for workers. The cashiers are rude and don't greet, they are to busy with their own conversations with other cashiers. Turned around in their chairs with their back towards the client. What happened to the good old days where you could actually have a quick \how do you do"with the cashier serving you. This incident happened a couple of times"
