What happened to good old Customer Service

I visited Checkers Lorraine yesterday on my way out of town. The first incident was I was standing with my young daughter at the bakery section for almost 15 minutes while the employee was having a conversation with her colleague. When I politely asked her if someone could please assist us with an order as we had been there for some time, she turned around and asked me what do I mean by I want to order and then proceeded to try and have an arugument with me for interupting her conversation. It was so bad we walked away and my daughter was in shock.

We then arrived at the tills and while we were trying to pay the teller behind me pushed me so hard that I almost fell into the till infront of me and then told me to move as she needed to get out. I was still paying. There was what looked like a manageress standing at the office and she just looked on.

I am appauled that this is it seems to be a given how a customer can be treated. The worst that my daughter had to be witness to this kind of treatment. We did not expect a red carpet, however how is this even allowed???? What happened to good old customer service. It does not take a lot to be nice. What is next...
