What an absolute horrible experience!!!
I shop at Checkers often and have never had an issue until today. I received a R250 voucher as a Mother's Day present and instead of spending it on myself like I was meant to, I went and put it towards food for the house. It's what us single moms do. The shopping went fine, went to pay, scanned everything and put my voucher through. When I tried to pay the outstanding with my card, there was an error, which I pointed out to the cashier. She then tried to do something on the till and I tried to tap my card again. When it didn't work, she grabbed my card out of my hand and roughly put it in the card machine a few times. She then held my card away from me. Eventually I got my card back and asked for management. The cashier started telling management what happened and when I pointed out that she wasn't truthful she started shouting at me and telling me I am wrong etc... Now I am already feeling low that I used my Mother's Day gift for food instead of on my self. To have someone shout at me in a store in front of other people was just horrible, especially after lying about what really happened. To have my card taken away from me - not how it's meant to be these days.
If I could have, I would have walked out there and then, but I couldn't because my voucher was not stuck on that till point.
