Warning to check all boxed items bought from checkers before purchasing.

Terrible experience at Checkers. My elderly father bought a DStv decoder on special from them and after trying to install it was told that it was already registered under a different name by DStv and to take it back to checkers for a refund or replacement. Then checkers refused to take it back because it was apparently the wrong decoder and imp**** that he had switched out the decoder. After explaining that, that was the decoder found in the box instead of trying to assist even the manager treated him like an idiot saying, “just bring the decoder you get in the box.” Suffice to say they refused to help in any way and directed him to DStv. Just a word of warning when buying anything in a box from checkers I package it there and check that it has not been resealed. Otherwise they will refuse to refund and imply that you are the one in the wrong of what is supposed to be in the box is not… never have I experienced such condescending and degrading service.
