Wanted to rob me
I had the unfortunate pleasure of visiting your store situated in Festive Mall(Kempton Park) on 11th November. My daughter is in love with the Disney character dolls & is currently collecting them. The price that was advertised is R100-00 in the store(just like the other stores, Greenstone(2) and Meadowdale). When I presented this doll for payment, I noticed was being charged R180-00. I told the cashier, the doll cost R100-00 & not R180-00. She asked me to bring the price sticker & I clearly told her to send the till packer with me to ensure that I get the right price tag, but this went onto deaf hear. I went myself to the isle & got the price tag. The casher then called the supervisor & she that she does not have the mandate to process the override. She then requested for the manager to assist. After some time, the manager (an indian lady, dressed up in her Saturday clothes(mind you not uniform with NO name tag) strolls through. She probally had drank some lemon juice as there was no friendlyness. She said, that the doll cost R180-00. I then told her that the advertised price is R100-00. She then asked who took the price off the shelf & I said I did.(although she never said it, but the look on her face made me feel like a ******** who does price switching). She then tells us, prices of this doll has gone up to R180-00 because it’s the festive season. I told her that the price advertised is R100-00 & she adminted that the staff did not change the price tag, but the correct price is R180.00 I then told her, just last week, I bought the same doll(Bell) for R100-00 and she insisted that the price has gone up. I told her I refused to pay R180-00 for a doll that cost R100-00. After some time, she said she is going to do us a ‘favour’ and give it to us for R100-00. It was a very embassing situtaltion, as there were other customers looking at us like we did something wrong. It just happened that I visited the Meaddowdale Checkers yesterday & bought the same doll(Aerial) for R100.00. I am a regular Checkers customers for years & the way I have been treated, I am seriously thinking of changing my supermarket
