Violation of my constitutional human rights: Falsely accused of shoplifting

On the 8th of June 2019, two days ago I was falsely accused of shoplifting by both senior manager/s and security staff under the employment of Checkers Hyper Somersetwest.

After having purchased my selected items at the till point, now moving towards the main exit I stopped by security asking what time they are closing. During this conversation the buzzers buzzed red at the exit. I then notified security,walked towards him and asked that he confirms the items paid for on the slip to those in the shopping bag.

The amount of items in my shopping bag corresponded to the amount of items paid for. Security then told me its ok, I may go.

Just as I was about to leave the shop 5 security guys came and grabbed me from behind forcing me back into the shop. They immediately grabbed my shopping bag and pushed me into the managers office blocking the door so that I cannot leave.

At this point they called the manager, after her arrival my shopping bag was opened,I was then told that they had clear footage of me replacing the barcode on the car charger I had purchased with that of another item.

When the security removed the car charger from the shopping bag saying that he will now prove to me what I did,to his surprise the car charger box contained only one original barcode.

At this point all questions I had and statements I made fell on deaf ears.

I was handcuffed in public before full shop, humiliated and pushed towards the back of the store where I was forced to enter a small room used for storing employee bags with a gate on it.

I continuously asked for evidence or footage which according to both security and senior managers existed,but was refused.

My right to privacy was then violated when the security staff,in front of all checkers employees stripped me from all property,such as my Cash, ID document,cellphone,etc.

The security guards then came and started taking photos of me whilst in handcuffs without my permission.

They kept talking about video footage but refused to let me see this.

The police eventually came two hours later, I was then transported to the police station in Somerset; Only to be released half an hour later and transported back to checkers hyper to my parked vehicle.

All I got was an apology by the police detective who confirmed that there was no footage or evidence that I had committed barcode *****. That checkers employees and security merely acted on an assumption.

What was shocking was to see how far checkers employees would go to get me locked up when they falsely planted evidence to present to the police. The original barcode reflected on the charger box when they grabbed me at the exit, this barcode however scanned something else at the till point, checkers employees and security went looking for the item which the charger boxed scanned,they removed a barcode from that item,then pasted it over the charger box original barcode to hand over to the police as evidence.

Not all my property was handed back to me,my cash was R500 short and cellphone had a cracked screen after security dropped it on a tiled floor.
