Two great positives and one negative

I wanted to comment on two great positives (and contrast with a negative). I visited the Checkers at the Reef Shopping Centre in Germiston a few days ago and found it to be an absolute pleasure - immaculately clean, well laid out and incredibly classy. It rivals and beats most upmarket food stores (I'm thinking of one chain in particular) and beats all stores of your nearest competition in the "middle-market" hands down! I am also impressed with the biodegradable packaging trays that Checkers has started using for vegetables - very commendable! At the other end of the scale though, I am less than impressed with my local Checkers Hyper on Rondebult Road in Germiston - in the past on separate occasions I have purchased both meat and cheese there and found them to be off - based on which I have never purchased these products again. My wife had a similar experience buying a tub of ice-cream which was melted. It seems the fridges are on energy-saving mode... Also very often the entrances to the store have an over-powering stench of blocked drain, which is off-putting for any store and very off-putting for a food store!
