Title: Repeated Vehicle Break-Ins at St John’s Checkers, Pinetown – No Response from Management

I am extremely disappointed with the lack of security and accountability at St John’s Checkers in Pinetown.

This is the second time my vehicle has been broken into while parked there.

The first incident (2024) – my car lock was broken, the back seat pulled down, and my laptop ****** from the boot.

The second incident (3 November 2025) – my husband and I stopped briefly at the Medirite Pharmacy, only to return and find both our laptops (worth around R40,000), our wallets, and cards ******.

Both times, our vehicle was parked right opposite the security room, yet no suspicious activity was seen or reported. What’s the point of having cameras and security if they are not doing their job?

To make matters worse, after leaving my details for centre management to contact me, no one has followed up. This shows complete disregard for customer safety and property.

How many more customers must go through this before proper security measures are put in place? Checkers, please take responsibility and urgently improve your centre’s security — we should not have to fear shopping at your stores!
