They make you sign a credit card receipt with a pen that comes from "who know where"

Currently at all Checkers stores, if you tap your credit card they make you sign the credit card receipt. Firstly, there is a global pandemic, and touching things (especially pens that have not been sterilized) is a BIG NO NO. Secondly, I normally sign my name as The Queen of England or Donald Duck, and the cashiers are none the wiser. What is Checkers thinking. In a society where contactless payments are the norm, why would I shop in a store that makes me sign a credit card receipt.
