THEFT / NO ACCOUNTABILITY / USELESS CCTV

Last night my friend and I went to Checkers in Sea Point where we normally do our groceries. We withdrew money on the 2nd floor, put it in the bag and made our way to the supermarket. We selected and packed the items we wanted in the trolley - and as we were to pay we realised that the money is gone!!!<br> <br> Shocked we asked if we could take a look at the camera to at least see who and how the money was taken - just for peace of mind.<br> <br> We watched the footage only to realise that the CCTV does not capture certain aisles and sections in the supermarket - and CONVENIENTLY where we could spot ourselves; there was no sign of anyone pickpocketing or even of the money falling out of the bag.<br> <br> <br> Only to find out from a number of people at the store that infact, there are a number of reported cases of the same kind.<br> <br> 2K that was supposed to carry us through! <br> <br> You walk into a reputable store and expect none of that! and even so; the reassurance that there is CCTV covering the store makes you feel safe.<br> <br> Even if we did not get the money back - show us what happened - you say you have CCTV dont you??!!!<br>
