The World's Unfriendliest Staff

<p>I don't usually shop at Checkers, but this past Saturday (20 Aug 2016) I decided to take a walk to the Checkers Rock Cottage which is the closest to where I live. I regreted that decision. The staff at Checkers Rock Cottage are the most unfriendliest bunch of employees I have ever met in my life. From the second I walked in. I picked what I needed, got to the till, greeted the lady at the till and got no response as she carried on talking to the packing lady. She snatch the R50 from my hand and as she handed me my change I said loudly "Thank you", and still I got no response or acknowledgement. Then I went to the kiosk to use the money market serivce. A lady and a gentleman were seated behind the counter with no customers at all. The lady had her hands folded, angry face and very unapproachable like she was a kid being forced to eat her broccoli. I asked them if I could collect money 'here' and the man said yes. I went to lady who also didnt greet me, didnt ask "can I help you", nothing. She just looked at me and relunctantly punched keys on her till and rudely asked me for my ID. I looked at them both and said to them "Are you Checkers people having a bad day or do you generally just hate your jobs? You are all just so miserable and unfriendly" as I laughed all I got from them was half forced smiles. The lady finished the transaction, handed me back my ID and the cash I was collecting. And again I said THANK YOU and when I got no response I decided to leave them with a few words, I said "...I hope your day gets better. Smile a little more. Life isnt THAT bad, I promise" I may as well have been talking to a brick wall because neither of them said anything or acknowledged my existance. Now, I'm not much of a Checkers shopper, now and again I'll go there, but after Saturday's experience, I can safely say, Checkers Rock Cottage have definately lost a customer. And it's such a pitty, coz I acutally love Checkers meat. What I wish and hope is that the manager at the Checkers Rock Cottage could tell his/her staff members that if they don't want to be there, they should quit. There are hundreds and thousands of people who would **** to have the jobs that they have and people who want to excel in their jobs and go beyond call of duty. Those are the faces of Checkers, so if they mess up, they've messed up an entire brand. If they can't deal with people, they must find jobs that don't require them to be around people. The receipt I kept unfortuanately doesnt have the lady's name, but it has the following info: "Cashier 253; Receipt 129; Time 0:22PM. Checkers, you need to teach your staff to live and be the brand that you sell yourself, y'all look so friendly and warm and welcoming in your TV ads, but in real life - eish!</p>
