The Checkers liquors in Gateway

So there a special on and we requested that item to given ti us at the price advertised. The manger agreed and when we got to the till to pay the cashier kept saying that the special was done and we kept referring her to the manager and when she then asked the manager. She was told by the manager to give it us at the special price as they cannot fight. My husband then highlighted that that is the price on the shelf and the response was that they have a lot of specials that they need to remove off the shelf but they are not miracles workers. Customers centricity should be the value base of any customer serving company. I just feel that a response like that from some to should be trained to deal any customer service issue. The EQ of the manger is very questionable.
