terrible service , i was so disappointed

To whom it may concern

I am writing to express my severe disappointment about the unsatisfactory service that I received at one of the Checkers Store (Centurion Mall).

Allow me to state that I am a loyal customer of Checkers.
I had recently relocated to Centurion from KZN at the beginning of this year. My daughter and I regularly travel to KZN every month – I book our bus tickets from this particular Checkers store.

Today I went to the store to purchase the tickets. And all of a sudden I was told that I needed to produce an affidavit in order to make the booking. I asked the cashier when was this law implemented? Because I have been buying bus tickets for the past 10 months, using only the child’s Birth certificate and not once was I requested to produce an affidavit.

The cashier called her Manager (Mr. Norman Swanepoel) who was abruptly rude and gave me no time of day. He didn’t want to listen to me, the only thing he said was: “It’s the Law”.

He kept on calling me “lady” and went on as far as talking to me in Afrikaans. And I clearly requested him to at least speak in English because I did not understand.

My argument is:
1. Why are the rules not displayed for customers to see? It was only taken out when I ask him where that rule was. After having spent more than 20 minutes in the queue.
2. Why is their Staff not trained properly as I have been booking my tickets at the very same store without being asked for an affidavit. Regardless of my attempts, telling them I will not be able to get the dad’s consent(affidavit) as he is out of the country? Mr Pieter Le Roux(who seems to be the General Manager) told me straight up- that it’s not their problem. Le Roux also called me a ****, after telling him how rude Mr Swanepoel was to me.

I'm disappointed and disgusted at the manner I was treated by both these gentlemen (such arrogance)!

I expected much higher level of service from them .

I hope to hear back from you regarding this incident .

Thanks
