Terrible service at checkers parow centre

I am a medical technician who went to Checkers hyper parow center this morning after working a 12 hour night shift. When I called in yesterday I was told the shop would be opening at 9. I went there at 8:30 to be on the safe side. When I arrived there was a line of people queueing and the shop was open already. I took my letter from work and ID and went to the security who subsequently told me that I could not enter the shop without a uniform on. I tried to explain to him that I do not wear uniform only a lab coat (which I cannot wear outside the lab) for safety reasons. He still refused me entry. I asked to speak to the manager who I was told was busy. She called me back a while later (I had already gone to pnp), where I was allowed to enter without any issues. She explained to me that 1: they're not allowing essential workers into the shop without uniform and 2: if it's your off day your letter is not valid. It could be my exhaustion but both these explanations went straight over my head. Not all essential workers (myself I included) wear uniform. And I work night shift. When I get home and have errands to run and have to be at work again 7pm sharp. Is it really fair that I have to stand in a line for hours as an "essential" worker when most of the people in line can come to the shop at any given time on any given day. I live 5 minutes away from checkers and sadly you've just lost a loyal customer. Thank goodness we now have the option of shopping ay pnp. My friends and family members will be switching over to pnp as well.
