Stay away from Checkers if you can!
We bought a Joghurt from Fair Cape yesterday on Boxing day December 26 and when we wanted to consume it at home I almost threw up...the Expiry date was November 4, production date September 20 ! Does Checkers ever check (no punt intended) before they put the items on the shelf, especially delicate items like milk products? Its disgusting and its not the first time this happens to us,...but now the last time we shop at Checkers. A few hundred meters further is a Woolworth and we never had such a horror experience there. Stay away from Checkers, if you can!

27 Dec 2020, 08:38Just to add on above, this was Checkers Kloof Street in Cape Town where items are regularly off or not available. Bad management I guess. Most staff greets you with a yawning wenn asked for service or have no clue where even the most simple items are found....And this in an area where customers have the money to shop. They will go to Woolworth down the road instead, like we do from now on. Bye, Checkers!

Just to add on above, this was Checkers Kloof Street in Cape Town where items are regularly off or not available. Bad management I guess. 29 Dec 2020, 22:12And of course another lie by Checkers wrapped as a marketing tool: After our twitter about the shockingly expired by 2 month product we were hastily contacted by the so called customer service to send in a picture of the rotten product and the purchase slip to a whattsapp number *** under the ref. no 443962. Unnecessary to say that this whole exercise was just a marketing gag and of course our message from 3 days ago was not answered at all, despite promising with a big mouth that a voucher will follow to make good the bad impression...
A joke, at best. In real terms, a blatant lie. We expected nothing else from the ****** called Checkers.Which is why we stay away form the ******.
