Starving

Hi there, Would like to mentioned the disgust I noticed at the Vergelegen Checkers branch IN Somerset West this morning. Went to the fresh chicken shelves to buy a chicken pack and noticed a employee unloading loads of chicken packs into a already full trolley of chicken packs. Must have been thousands of rands of chicken. I was told that it was to be dumped as the expiry date was yesterday and they may not sell it to me. Although the chicken still looked fresh and good - yesterday good,today bad. I find this disgusting as if the chickens date was to expire in a few days,why did they not mark it down then from the very expensive original prices before hand. We all could do with a good deal now and then than to simply dump. This was a trolley full of fresh chicken. This can only be extremely bad management at its worst. They obviously are making way to much profit here. The country is in a mess with thousands of people starving, but hey,they literally throw food away. DISGUSTED.
