Shoprite Checkers Money Market

I could not get a satisfactory answer as to why I must show an ID if I want to send my son R200 cash via their Money Market. I was told that they must scan my ID so that if my son forgets the pin that they can contact me. HOW ARE YOU GOING TO GET HOLD OF ME BY MY ID ALONE????? I have never in this day and age heard of anything so utterly ABSURD. Also I get told that it is according to the new Protection of Personal Information Act????????? How are you protecting my INFO IF YOU HAVE MY ID NUMBER? WHAT DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH MY SON???? Checkers you have gone back to the DARK AGES! What century are you in???? I have not heard such nonsense since the 1950's. You don't accept a VALID passport. How valid is any ID that is issued in South Africa?????
