Shocking treatment of the elderly

I took my 88 year old mother to Checkers Hyper Somerset West today. She stood in the que at the Moms and babies till, where a gentleman was served on his own with a huge trolley of groceries. A mother with an 8 and 6 year old and her husband with a baby fast asleep in the pram stood behind us, approximately after 8 minutes of us already in the que. My mother's few groceries were already unpacked. The cashier told that she could not serve my mom as the parents with the children took preference. I had to pack the groceries back into the trolley and again stand in another que for another 10 minutes. I called the manageress to report the appalling fact that children actually get preference before an 88 year old woman. She pulled up her shoulders and said that they have requested on numerous occasions for an express till for the elderly but it is what it is. What a shocking state of affairs and treatment of an elderly woman with a walking stick! Checkers Hyper Somerset West you need to get your staff trained and get your act together and priorities in order!!!
