Shocking Experience

Good day

On Sunday the 30th of January 2022,I went shopping at Checkers in Rock Cottage park at about 7:45PM It was a very traumatic experience, firstly to be met by the smell of rotting food by the door. This is actually a norm but we remain silent and buy foods that are not rotting and get on with our lives .Send anyone to that store even today, I would bet you that smell is there. Further as I was in the shop by close to the cashiers a lady who was also there shopping called one of the staff members to request him to get rid of a mice that was hanging around the shop. Luckily the staff member had a plan and closed the mice with one of the shopping basket, I didn't hang around that area much to see how it was disposed, if the staff member sanitized or continued packing.

I mean if i was working there as a packer and someone called me to say remove the mice, I would be found at the door and no where near the mice, as I am terrified of those creatures. The germs those creatures carry could be even worse than COVID. All I kept thinking about was, could the rat i.e. the mother to that mouse be in the shop. I asked myself when the shop closes, do mice run around there, peeing on the flour we would use to bake, the fruits and eating the vegetables. How long could this be going on for.

Is this the extent to which Checkers takes us as consumers for granted including the staff. Are they there as general workers to sort of the mice as well, are they trained on how to manage such situations, should it be their baby?

This is about the most disgusting thing I have ever had to experience. Checkers sort yourselves out, this is not acceptable at all. Where are the managers, inspectors ,food safety protocols. For Gods sake you people sell ready to eat food that is definitely not sold at once, does it lay there at night covered in plastics that rats can open and just eat from.

I could really go on but just sort yourselves out.
