Selling products past the sell by date and poor customer service

I just came home from the rondebosch checkers and when I checked the rib eye steak I bought it was past the sell by date by far, yet it was still on the shelf. I did not think it would be expired and just picked 4. This is ridiculous because it is ******* to keep things on the shelf past the sell by date and I could've gotten very sick. In addition to this, the management and teller in the store were extremely unhelpful and were more interested in their social conversations than doing their jobs. Our teller did not listen to us when we told her to wait for them to process the cash back before she started processing the groceries. We had to wait 20 minutes for the cash back because the store manager said she did not know which till requested it so she just left it alone and carried on her "hot gossip" conversation. The expired steak and the customer service combined resulted in an extremely poor experience. I expected better. The irony was that the manager was using a huge customer service sash.
