Rude cashier at Checkers, customer abuse during broad daylight!

This was an encounter last year - 21st of December 2023 the service and attitude from the cashier was very poor, disrespectful and rude.

I was with my sister, we only had a few items to pay for. My sister wanted to claim her two vouchers from DStv rewards. Before that, we waited on the queue for over 10 minutes, we were 2nd in line. There was no movement or any action, the cashier was talking to the customer and it seemed like they were waiting for something / someone. We tried to make eye contact with the cashier to gauge the situation but nothing happened so we continued to wait as the queues were long. After a few minutes a gentleman came and gave the cashier a cake and they hugged and then left. When came our turn to pay the first thing the cashier said was “PLEASE BE QUICK I WANT RO GO HOME”!!! This was after we waited for so long… The lady helping with the packing of the parcels even said to the cashier “just apologize”!

Then when my sister showed her the vouchers she was so impatient and started shouting saying “you are confusing me please show me exactly what you are claiming” I asked her why she was being so rude and she said I’m being too sensitive. When I said I’m shocked by the behavior she turned around to say “I guess cashiers are not the same and I guess customers are not the same either”

When came my turn to pay, she said please be quick I want to leave. When she saw me take pictures she said “I’m honestly joking with you and laughed”.

The cashiers behavior shocked me, ruined my evening and I really felt attacked and abused. I respect the Checkers brand. I often buy on the Sixty app but it was late that day and we were close by the store. I reported the incident - I wrote an email to the service department and I was told they would investigate! Still waiting for some sort of an apology. But I guess they don't take their customers seriously anyway,,,see me shop there ever again!
