Rude and Unhelpful

I was at the Money Market at the St John's Checkers in Pinetown and I waited 10 minutes to be helped. There were 4 people behind the counter and no one helped me. I waited 10 minutes and then they called even though no one was in front of me and they look at me and just carry on talking and laughing. It is cause I'm not indian or african that they rude to me and I was there to draw money from the Money Market but they said for security reasons I needed to know how much my friend was sending me which i have never been asked this before at any other checkers ever since this money transfer was introduced to Checkers. Now they said i need to know the amount which i was not told due to it being a suprise. they already ask for the ID and code and pin code which i got but now i need to know the amount. If someone is trying to take money they wont have the pin code. Now i must wait 2 months for my friend to get back from overseas so i can find out how much he sent. ****** attitudes from the staff and VERY unhelpful and they all look at me with stupid looks on their faces like im making them late for their lunch or making them late to go home. How rude

Hello NightFury85,

Thank you for taking the time to contact the Checkers supermarket chain.

We are sorry to hear about your bad experience at Checkers St John's Avenue. When withdrawing a money transfer, the receiver needs to provide the M-transfer reference number, input the correct PIN for the transaction and present their South African barcoded ID and mobile phone number.

We apologise for the manner in which you were treated by the cashiers in this instance. Therefore, in the interest of good customer service, the details of your experience will be brought to the attention of Divisional Management for investigation. One of our representatives will be in contact with you shortly.

Kind regards
Devon Currie
