Rotten meat and cashier attitude

I went to buy chicken at The Checkers near my house on Saturday 31st of March 2018. I didn’t notice the Sell By date was 30 March 2018. When l got home l put the meat in the fridge, opened the meat the following day Sunday the 1st April 2018 it was stinking and discolored.

My whole kitchen was stinking, l looked for the till slip which l found and drove to the store. The two ladies who assisted me treated me as though l had committed a crime by bringing the rotten meat back, they gave me a refund and did not even bother to apologize for the inconvenience.

This is not the first time l have left meat in this store coz of the stink, it seems no one keeps a close look at the expiry/sell by date. This is a family store and we trust them to be mindful of such potential harm. Had my nanny opened this meat and cooked it for my kids?? The attitude of the people who handle returns should be right, especially if the store is at fault because no one compensates me for my petrol and time spent having to return to the store.

This is unacceptable and disgusting for a family store!!!!
